Waste Heat RecoveryORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) is a Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) solution which delivers additional power from engine exhaust gas energy.
ORC systems operate on HC based fluids and therefore have not the typical disadvantages of water-based steam turbine systems. Major advantages of ORC are excellent performance at part load and in non-continuous operation. ORC systems can even be applied to utilize low temperature heat sources of 100-200°C. They are simple to operate and require very little maintenance efforts. ORC systems have a compact and modular design and can be included in an existing thermal oil circuit.
